1210 is made by Islam Shatat, an independent developer in Saudi Arabia who publishes as SHATATION. This page says what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. Here, "we" means Islam Shatat, the person responsible for your data.
The short version
- You play without an account.
- Your progress stays on your phone and in your own iCloud. We cannot see it.
- 1210 asks before it shares anonymous usage data. It never includes your name, your answers or anything that identifies you, and you can change your mind at any time.
- If you send feedback, we receive your message and, only if you add it, your email.
- We do not sell data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
On your phone and in your iCloud
Your progress, levels, stars, streaks, medals, test answers and results, the name and picture you choose for your profile, and your settings are saved on your phone.
If iCloud is on for 1210, a copy is kept in your private iCloud database so another device or a new phone can carry on where you left off. That copy belongs to your Apple ID and is stored by Apple. We have no access to it.
Anonymous usage data
What is sent. Which screens and games are used and how levels go (the game, level, score, stars, accuracy and time); which tests are started and finished and how long they take, never your answers or results; medals and 1210 Secrets found; challenge links sent or opened; and feedback sent, by kind only.
With each event. The app version, iOS version, phone model, screen size, language, region and time zone settings; a few settings at that moment (Low Power Mode, Reduce Motion, text size, light or dark appearance, sound and haptics); and where you are in the game (journey chapter, levels played, player level, streak, tests done, 1210 Secrets found and days since you first played).
The identifier. A random ID made on your phone, used only to group these events. It is not linked to your Apple ID or your name. 1210 does not use your phone's advertising identifier.
Location. Our analytics provider works out a country and city from the internet address the data arrives from, then discards the address. We never receive your precise location.
Who handles it. PostHog, Inc. hosts our analytics in the United States.
Why. To see which games people enjoy, where levels are too hard or too easy, and what to fix.
Your choice. When you first open 1210, it asks whether you want to share anonymous usage data, and nothing is sent unless you say yes. You can change your mind at any time in You › Share anonymous usage data; turning it off stops sending and deletes anything still waiting on your phone.
Feedback
When you use You › Send feedback, we receive what it is about (an idea, a problem, a question or praise), your message, the app version, phone model and where you are in the game, and your email only if you type one. It is sent even when usage data is off, because you chose to send it.
Each message gets its own random ID and is not joined to your usage data. We use it to reply, if you left an email, and to improve 1210. It is stored with PostHog in the United States, and we delete it if you ask. Sending a message is your choice, and that choice is our reason for handling it.
Challenges you send
A challenge link holds the game, the level, your score and stars, and the name and picture choice from your profile, so your friend can see who challenged them. It goes wherever you share it, and 1210 does not send it anywhere else.
Reminders
Daily reminders are notifications scheduled on your phone. Nothing about them is sent to us.
Children
1210 is a game for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: usage data is anonymous, and the only personal information we can receive is an email someone chooses to add to feedback. If a child has sent us an email, write to us and we will delete it.
Where your data goes
Usage data and feedback are handled by PostHog in the United States. Our website and our email forwarding run on Cloudflare, which has servers around the world. Both process data for us under their data processing terms, which include safeguards for sending data between countries. We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting
We keep usage data and feedback only for as long as they help us improve 1210. Because usage data is anonymous, we cannot pick out yours; feedback that has an email can be found and deleted on request.
Deleting the app removes everything 1210 saved on your phone. To remove the iCloud copy, open iOS Settings, then your Apple ID, iCloud and its storage, choose 1210 and delete its data.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Under Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law you can also complain to the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA); in the EU or the UK, to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
